How did the Native Peoples of San Diego County adapt and thrive in the arid environment of Southern California for over 10,000 years? Our exhibits display the varied tools employed by the local tribes in their daily life to hunt, gather seeds and acorns, fish, and exploit the varied resources along the seashore and in the local lagoons.
The centerpiece of our exhibit is a replica of a Kumeyaay E’wa and a grinding stone used to grind acorns and seed
